Career Summary
With an MS in Civil Engineering and a BS in Physics and Math I have a strong academic background in computational analysis and analytical problem solving. Additionally, with a masters degree in civil engineering and 8 years of experience as a process/mechanical engineer I have been able to apply my technical and analytical skills to solve large scale, real world problems. My engineering career, while in the Civil/Public Works sector, has focused mainly on design and implementation of mechanical systems and leading multi-disciplinary teams through project development and construction.
Throughout my career as a civil engineer I have worked on wide variety of projects to gain a myriad of applicable skills including project management, design development, client service, and technical mechanical design. I have been fortunate to work on some of the largest, most complex water infrastructure projects in the region, leading technical design teams of over 100 people in development of bid ready, technical construction documents while also leading the detailed technical design of several treatment processes.
Before becoming a professional civil engineer, I worked as a technical mountaineering and high altitude guide. Leading groups of people in challenging outdoor environments from Alaska to Tierra Del Fuego to East Africa. Working in high altitude environments in some of the toughest weather conditions this planet has to offer has truly shown me the meaning of dedication to a job and given me a powerful will to succeed in any endeavor. I continue to have a strong connection to the outdoors and enjoy the plethora of recreational opportunities available to me in the beautiful pacific northwest.
